Adjustable Fill In the Blank
The second new feature I want to give you more details about is the adjustable Fill-in-the-Blank question. Up to now, the size and position of the entry box was fixed, like so,
Now, both the size and position of the entry box can be changed by using underscores in the question text - here's an example,
This appears as a preview like so,
Use more underscores to make a larger entry field or fewer for a smaller one.

Publish Quizzes Direct To The Internet
The really big new feature for Question Writer 3.2 is the facility to publish your quiz directly to the internet. You'll find the option third in the Publish menu. It's a one-step process - click to publish and it will upload your quiz and give you back the web address which allows your quiz to be accessed online.
One thing you will need is an account on the Question Writer Tracker website - this will give you 100MB storage space and a monthly bandwidth allowance of 1GB (1024MB) for free. All the quizzes you publish this way will be automatically tracked for you, so you can log on any time to see the results and analyse the responses to questions.

Question Writer 3.2
You'll find a new version of Question Writer available for download from the website today. Question Writer 3.2 has three great new features -
i) Upload your Quiz directly to the Question Writer Tracker website directly from the desktop. Choose the publishing option 'Publish to Question Writer Tracker'. Each user has 100MB and 1GB transfer to start with.
ii) There's now a Portuguese language option available
iii) Fill in the Blank questions now support inline blanks - just use underscores where you want the blank to appear - this also gives control over the size of the blank.
I'll be blogging each of these new features in detail in the next few days - but you can start playing around with them immediately.

Server Upgrade - New Features
I'm going to be upgrading the Question Writer results server on the morning of Wednesday 18th of February between the hours of 9AM and 1PM GMT. That equates to 4AM to 8AM EST, and 1AM to 5AM PST.
During this time, the online interface won't be available, and all new result sets will be directed to the backup server. No result e-mails will be sent during this time. Those result sets will be transferred onto the main server in the 60 minutes after the upgrade is complete.
