Better JPEG quality
JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group. Or something like that. It's a way to compress images, especially photo-style images to put them online. You've been able to add them with Question Writer for a while. However QW was compressing the images too much and the quality looked poor. Well that's all been fixed, and QW doesn't compress your .jpg images anymore - so your student will be able to see the image they're answering questions on. The quiz file size will be larger now though - so if you're finding the files are too fat, try compressing the images before importing them into Question Writer.
Update! 12/02/07 Quiz Edition now allows you to change the image quality setting

Quiz Edition - Flash Animations
Here's a new feature I sneaked into Quiz Edition about a month ago. You'll remember that you could add images to a question - now you can also add Flash animations to a question. So if you'd like to add audio, video or an animation to a question, you can just create that with a Flash tool, export it as Flash 6 and attach it to your question.

Embedded MP3 Sound - Publisher Edition
Here's a new feature for Publisher Edition - embedded MP3 sounds. Now you can specify an MP3 file for the audio element, and also choose to compile that audio directly into the final Flash file. It's good because Flash is more reliable if everything is loaded in a single file - there's no hassle with preloaders, or some files loading and others not. The embedding works smartly with the streaming, so if a sound is required for question 4, the user can be answering questions 1, 2 and 3 while it is loading in.
